Community

Neosource, Inc. strongly supports the local community and is pleased the following agencies provide us the opportunity to give back to a community that has given so much to us. We encourage supporting these agencies that so strongly impact our society by improving the life for all of us.

DHS Christmas for Kids

In 2012, over 1300 children in the Tulsa County foster care system had their holiday wishes fulfilled. Neosource eagerly awaited the list of children for this year, and enjoyed fulfilling that wish list. Envisioning the joy of a child opening a present Christmas Day is something all of us can appreciate. And thank you DHS for all your hard behind the scenes work for the programs of “Sponsor a Child”, “Cash/Check Donations” to TAPC and for the “Toy Drive”.

The John Hope Franklin Center for Reconciliation Dinner

Neosource was proud to support The John Hope Franklin Center for Reconciliation and attend the fourth annual Dinner of Reconciliation November 21, 2013 at the Greenwood Cultural Center.

The evening featured Pulitzer-nominated author Clifton Taulbert, founder and president of the Tulsa-based Building Communities Institute, and Booker T Washington High School graduate. His talk examined how learning can help a community heal from the wounds of its painful past and provide a foundation for a stronger, unified future.

More information about the Center for Reconciliation, and the opportunity for online contributions can be found at www.jhfcenter.org. For the Tulsa World article, click here.

2013 United Way Day of Caring
September 6, 2013

In 2012, Neosource was challenged finding a single project for all 20 employees. It was easier with our 7 great folks during our very first Day of Caring in 2004. So three Day of Caring projects it was for 2013!! One at the Salvation Army MABEE COMMUNITY CENTER, another at the Tulsa Girl Scout Lodge and the third at the Girl Scout main lodge at Tall Chief.

For 2013, Neosource again closed its doors and 3 groups spread out for these great civic opportunities.

Opportunity 1) The Salvation Army project required significant ( I mean a lot!!) of sanding and scraping of the handrails for the crossover bridge. People were under it, over it and all around it removing years of old paint and rust from the steel pipe. Cleaned with mineral spirits, the pipe was generously coated with primer, then paint. Finishing after mid-day just as the hot sun was starting to shine its face, this group headed to assist another group at the Tulsa Girl Scout Lodge.

Opportunity 2) The Tulsa Girl Scout Lodge project required the removal and destruction of a very old and very tired outside storage shed. Prior to the actual Day of Caring, the old shed was dragged away, making room for a Neosource donated outside storage shed. For the Day of Caring, the old shed was torn down for dumpster disposal. It was old, but took significant effort from the big guys to cut and break it apart. During the demolition, others leveled the new shed, gave it good support for stability, built new stairs up the slight slope and installed lattice on the perimeter to keep out any pesky creatures. Finally, the new shed was painted for that out-doorsy rustic look. The Salvation Army project team arrived in time for some lunch and assist in some quick touch ups to complete the project.

Opportunity 3) The Tall Chief Lodge near Skiatook enlisted the third Neosource group for installing sound absorbing panels on the tall ceiling of the Lodge. With the help of an electric lift (courtesy of MGM Mechanical) and a lot of building experience from this crew, the panels got off to a learning start, but soon the process and rhythm picked up quickly. We missed getting in process photos of this group in action, as they were just too fast!!!

It continues to be a privilege and an emotional inspiration to help our Tulsa area community. Neosource is pleased for the opportunity to give back to a community that has provided so much to us.
