DHS Christmas for Kids
December 16, 2016

(12/16/2016)

Envisioning the joy of a child opening a present Christmas Day is something all of us can appreciate. Working with Tulsa Advocates for the Protection of Children, Neosource was again eager to partner with TAPC, sponsoring 35 children for 2016. Our great staff whole heartedly supported an additional company toy drive, providing bicycles and toys of all types for children that did not get selected from the original list of 1500. We thank all the DHS and TAPC volunteers for making this possible, as there is tremendous work behind the scenes for the this important program.

For 2016, over 1500 local children in OKDHS custody will have their Christmas wishes fulfilled. The large room photo represents gifts from area donors, with a special acknowledgement to Venture Properties Allen Brothers for donating the use of this large facility.

Childrens Library Project
(11/25/2016)

Neosource is excited to assist a local Tulsa church for building a children’s library half way around the world in north Africa. The church has obtained over 90 commercial aluminum double hung windows, which have been safely packaged in 2 large wooden crates by Viking Packing Specialists (Port of Catoosa). This 20’ sea worthy container is packed with these crates, over 100 boxes of church gathered children’s clothes, elementary library books, a few musical instruments and a used piano. Additionally, nearly 4000 sq ft of 26GA panels with ridge caps and screws in the container will provide a metal roof for the library. School desks, soccer equipment and flags of the country for the children completes the container. Monitor our Neosource webpage for new details for this exciting opportunity that will touch the lives of many young children across the globe.

United Way Day of Caring
September 9, 2016

(9/9/2016)

For the 13th year in a row, Neosource closed its doors to participate in the United Way Day of Caring. This used to be an easy task when there were only a few of us. But with 20 people, a busy work schedule and customers needing their products, the Neosource crew was able to coordinate their time and efforts to meet our customer requirements and provide this invaluable community service.

It was our privilege to build two Pergola’s for the outside play area providing needed shade, and to paint 3000 sq ft of activity center wall at the Vision 21 Child Learning Center in Broken Arrow, Ok. A big thanks to Janis and Stacie helping us to coordinate these projects.

12” holes were drilled and poles were set in concrete on Thursday before the Friday Day of Caring. A big pat on the back to our guys as the weather was very hot and humid both Thursday and Friday. To provide a long life, all the wood was rough cedar. However the cedar poles were sanded smooth to avoid splinters for young children.

The second project involved painting nearly 3000 sq ft of the activity center walls, bathrooms and hallways. It required visits Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to do some patching, and paint all the door & window frames a nice contrasting color to the wall paint. (Working around 2-3 years olds asking what we were doing, where is your Mommy and just enjoying the great curiosity of the young was most refreshing. We heard the name Michael a lot from all the different teachers!) There was a LOT of masking and plastic to protect the floor. We even wrapped the wheels of the scaffolds with duct tape to protect their floors. Our special thanks to Anchor Paint who donated part of the paint and discounted the remaining paint and supplies.

Weather has already been discussed, with hot and humid for one project while the painters enjoying an air conditioned work area. Sorry guys!

Our crew had a great time and enjoyed the opportunity to volunteer for these worthwhile projects. Neosource is truly a blessed company, and we always appreciate giving back to our community. Thanks to everyone for improving the lives of others.

Neosource encourages everyone to support the 2016 United Way Drive, to whatever level you can afford. No matter how large or small, it all adds up and, as always, will be used for many great causes.
